 Boas! A semana passada, conseguimos finalmente estabelecer ligações via rádio entre a placa t-minus e o computador. Deste modo, conseguimos estabelecer o primeiro passo para criar comunicações a longa distância, algo que teremos de utilizar durante a competição CanSat.

 Para testar o alcance das antenas da placa t-minus decidimos andar pela escola com a placa t-minus, enquanto um elemento ficava na sala a estudar os dados recebidos. A partir desta "experiência" conseguimos concluir que, pelo menos a distâncias menores que 30 m, a comunicação por rádio está assegurada. No entanto, isto não é o suficiente para a competição, daí que o nosso próximo passo no departamento da comunicação a longas distâncias consiste na aquisição de uma antena Yagi.

No departamento de programação, estamos neste momento a tentar corrigir a equação que traduz a altitude em função da pressão atmosférica, sendo que é a última coisa que nos falta acabar em relação à primeira missão. Conclui-se assim o nosso relatório semanal!

Last week, we were finally able to establish communications via radio between the t-minus board and our computer, thus giving the first step towards long distance communications, which we will need to receive data in the CanSat competition.

To test the range of the communications, we decided to create a little "experiment" where one group member would walk through the school while the others checked the data feed. With this "experiment", we can say that, at least for small distances (<30 m), the communications via radio are indeed working! However, we need to test it for greater distances, since in the competition our CanSat will be dropped from 1 kilometer in the troposphere. To accomplish this, our next step is to purchase a Yagi-Uda antenna and start experimenting long distance communications over greater distances.

In the programming department, we are just trying to correct the equation that gives us the height in function of the atmospheric pressure, which is the last thing that we need to finish regarding the first mission.
